PSW Power & Automation has signed a turnkey contract with a public transport company including infra-structure and technology enabling MCS fast charging of electric ferries.
The delivery consists of a high-power MCS DC charging solution, semi-automated charging tower, civil works, and electrical infra-structure.
PSW Power & Automation started delivering MCS in 2022 and is a major player within AC shore power solutions and has extended its portfolio with MCS fast charging for electric vessels.
«We deliver complete, seamlessly integrated MCS charging solutions for safe and reliable power transfer from the power grid to vessels. The electrification of land and sea-based transport requires MCS charging technology, making it one of our core businesses,” says Eirik Sørensen, General Manager in PSW Power & Automation. “We are now working on several potential projects in the Nordics within MCS charging solutions were batteries and alternative energy sources play an important role.
MCS fast charging systems are typically used by ferries or other vessels that operate on a defined route. The charging power is dynamically regulated based on the status of the battery on board and available time for charging.
