PSW Power & Automation has been awarded a turnkey contract with Port of Helgeland for a complete shore power solution at Helgeland Logistic center in Sandnessjøen. The solution will have a capacity of 2,4MVA.
Helgeland Logistic center is located at Horvnes in Sandnessjøen with three industrial quays. Sandnessjøen is centrally located on the Helgeland coast, close to the national main route and with a short sailing time to central oil and gas fields in the North Sea. In 2019 there were 490 ship calls in total at the three quay locations. The quays are mainly used by offshore vessels with large variations in power output and periodically low engine utilization. It is therefore expected major environmental benefits by connecting to shore power during port stays.
