One of Sweden’s largest utility companies Ellevio Energy Solutions AB, part of Ellevio AB, has selected PSW Power & Automation`s BQ-G grid-scale battery to provide Fast Frequency Reserve (FFR), a control technology that can handle the fluctuations in the Nordic grid and enable very fast response times (<700ms).
Sweden’s new electricity generation comes from wind power; however, electricity generated from renewables can be highly variable. To solve this grid imbalance PSW Power & Automation has developed a solution that provides stability in the power grid.
PSW`s BQ-G is a modular energy storage system that can, in addition to providing fast response, be used for other grid services and/or energy trading.

Sweden expects to more than double its electricity consumption over the next 25 years and has set itself ambitious goals by reaching net-zero emissions by 2045.
