What actually goes into making a more sustainable live event? Behind the scenes.

Behind every concert, festival, and live experience, there’s a complex infrastructure working quietly in the background — especially when it comes to power.

This summer, we have provided a BQ-S battery container to Creative Technology Norway, who are responsible for managing power solutions during Bergenfest for Bergen Live. But this is about more than just replacing one energy source with another.

Creating a more sustainable event means rethinking how energy is produced, stored, and used — often in temporary environments where reliability is non-negotiable. Battery systems like the BQ-S help balance power demand, reduce the need for diesel generators, and enable smarter, more efficient energy use throughout the event lifecycle.

At the same time, sustainability is not just about emissions. It’s also about safety, planning, and responsibility. Bergen Live works systematically to ensure that audiences, artists, crew, and volunteers experience events that are both safe and well-organized — while minimizing impact on the surrounding environment, including local nature and cultural heritage.

What happens on stage is only part of the story. Behind the scenes, it’s about careful coordination, new technology, and a shared commitment to doing things better — step by step.
