A year ago, we signed a substantial contract with Uddevalla Energi to deliver a cutting-edge battery energy storage system. The project is completed and inaugurated today.
This strategic initiative will not only enhance the reliability of the local power grid but also promote energy efficiency by storing excess energy and releasing it during periods of high demand.
The centrepiece of this project is PSW’s state-of-the-art BQ-G battery system, specifically designed for grid-scale applications. With a capacity of 4MWh, the battery system is engineered to meet the demands of large-scale energy storage, ensuring the seamless integration of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar.
The system is designed to provide Primary Reserve Power (FCR) and Fast Frequency Response (FFR), which are essential for maintaining grid stability in the face of fluctuating energy generation.
PSW`s scope of delivery is comprehensive, encompassing the design, commissioning, and handover of all critical components, including switchgear, transformers, inverters, and batteries.
Additionally, an advanced energy management system will be deployed to optimize the operation of the battery storage system, ensuring it meets the dynamic needs of the grid. PSW will also provide ongoing maintenance services, ensuring the long-term reliability and performance of the system.
As renewable energy sources continue to play an increasingly significant role in Sweden’s energy mix, and other countries for that matter, the need for reliable and efficient energy storage solutions becomes more apparent.
The successful implementation of this battery storage system in Uddevalla will serve as a benchmark for future projects, demonstrating the vital role that advanced energy storage technologies will play in supporting the transition to a more sustainable and resilient energy future.
Through this collaboration, PSW Power & Automation and Uddevalla Energi are not only addressing the immediate needs of the local power grid but are also contributing to the broader goal of a greener, more sustainable energy landscape in Sweden.
