Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are key to balancing the power system and enabling more renewable energy. Our facility at Ågotnes consists of 2.2 MWh batteries from the world’s leading battery supplier in the form of 6 cabinets. These are connected to a high-quality European inverter of 1.6 MW.
Furthermore, a transformer takes the voltage up to 22 kV before we are connected to the grid through our transformer station here at the facility. The facility is controlled by our own developed EMS to enable full control over both monitoring and cybersecurity.
