PSW Power & Automation recently handed over a low voltage shore power system to Port of Bodø, and on Monday 14th of February, our project manager Jan Harald Bakke, attended the opening ceremony.
The shore power solution has a capacity of 6MVA, with seven connection points, and will supply fishing vessels, fish carriers, cargo vessels, bulk ships, service vessels in addition to Hurtigruten and Havila or Kystruten.
The solution is expected to provide an approximate annual emission reduction of 2400 tonnes of CO2 says Port of Bodø in their pressrelease.
“In Bodø municipality we have ambitious climate goals, and we want to facilitate for Port of Bodø to be become a future-oriented port. This shore power system is of great importance to Bodø, and with this we are taking a big step in the important work of achieving our climate goals. I want to praise Port of Bodø and all involved parties for this important milestone for the harbor,” says Mayor Ida Pinnerød.
